DERECKA Continued Summer School at Brunel University

The a continuation of the DERECKA summer school was hosted by Brunel University, taking place in London, the capital of England. During this week, multiple events and projects were hosted by the staff and PhD students at Brunel University.

The week began with presentations on Economics in the UK by Prof Nigar Hashimzade, PhD in Law by Pin Lean. A campus tour was given by the PhD students of Brunel's AI Edge Lab.

The second day gave time for the visitors to explore London and the local area, after a presentation on Brunel's Graduate School by Dr Inma Andres.

The third day included presentations on PhD administration by Vicky Maladeni, Hope Wallis and Ela Heaney, and Reasearch Methods and their Impacts by prof Tatiana Kalganova. A tour of the biomedical labs were given by Elmar Kal. Certificates were awarded at dinner in the Lancaster Hotel.

The fourth day took place at Windsor, where the group visited Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. They made the most of the good weather by touring the town and its sights.

The week concluded with the final presentations PhD Eductaion by Tatiana Kalganova, which included brainstorming activities with the group. Dr Stelios Andreadakis gave a presentation on the relationships between student and supervisor during a PhD in Law.
